Dzidom K.

I’m native to Togo, Ghana. I found my passion for Caregiving at a young age while helping my mother with cooking duties in our small village. One day, we were approached by a pregnant woman suffering from Polio and I immediately felt compelled to help. From there, I decided to move to the big city to learn how to sew. I ended up working a lot of odd jobs to make a living, eventually saving enough to purchase my own sewing machine and to enroll in a 16-month sewing course. On the side, I worked as a babysitter, a caterer, and served lunch at a local school. After several other housekeeping/caregiving positions, I met a lady from Canada whom I worked for 13 years. I immigrated with her to North America. On August 6, 1997 I arrived to Montreal.

My first job in Toronto was at a beauty salon. Afterwards, I became a housekeeper for Toronto Government Housing. I used this experience to land a job at Pearson International Airport, cleaning inside the aircraft. I did this for 13 years. In the meantime, I was also studying for my Personal Support Worker certificate. I first started working as a PSW for a private client. Shortly after, I got hired with Pinnacle Care and never looked back. The Pinnacle Care Managers are fantastic people. They are respectful, welcoming, and they are very human. Anytime you call on them and anything you ask for, they are there for you. They are a wonderful company. I pray they will continue growing and become the best in the industry. I am grateful to live in Canada and to work for Pinnacle Care.
